Sailboat Transport

Sailboats Need a Specialist, Not a General Hauler

A keel, a mast and standing rigging change everything about moving a sailboat by road. The keel has to sit correctly on the trailer, the mast has to come down and travel secured, and the boat's loaded height decides which routes are even possible.

We book carriers who haul sailboats regularly and plan each route around your boat's actual draft, beam and height, whether it's a coastal relocation or a cross-country move to a new home port.

How We Protect Your Sailboat

Special Care for Every Sailboat

Your sailboat rides on a trailer with proper keel support and adjustable stands, with the mast secured alongside. Height and beam are checked against every route before dispatch. Carriers are licensed and insured, and their coverage is verified before your boat is loaded.

  • Have your yard or rigger unstep the mast; we'll coordinate timing with them
  • Remove sails, and secure or remove the boom, boom vang and running rigging
  • Remove electronics, cushions and personal items
  • Close and lock hatches, ports and lockers
  • Drain water tanks and run fuel low; disconnect batteries
  • Photograph the boat from all sides before pickup
